ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
The history of our Sanctuary rests on a foundation that stretches
back to the pantheistic religious traditions of the Etruscans (pre-Roman) and
Minoans (pre-Greek).
Within our sacred space, we celebrate the mysteries that
make up the Olde Religion, from this unique cultural lineage.
1996 - 2006
The Sanctuary of the Crescent Moon began with the Eleusinian Mysteries,
at Mabon, 1996.
During our first decade of service, we've been proud to:
Train and initiate devoted students of Dianic Wicca.
Host the South Chicago Pagan Pride Harvest Carnival, now in its seventh year.
Co-founded the Wiccan Interfaith Council International, now beginning its third year.
Host "Under Diana's Moon" ~ Witches Ball ~ for four years.
Host "WomanSpirit" ~ A Celebration of Feminine Artisanship ~ for three years.
Provide open classes for local Pagans and Wiccans - as always - free of charge.
OUR SECOND DECADE ~ 2007 AND GROWING
As we begin our second decade, we continue to:
Provide coven training, through our Dianic Wiccan degree program.
Our coveners enjoy the Dianic Wheel of the Year Sabbats, moon rites, and training to become
initiated Wiccans (first and second degree rank) and Clergy (third degree rank) into the mystery traditions of our Sanctuary.
Raise money and food donations for area animal shelters, homeless shelters,
battered women's shelters, and the Greater Chicagoland Food Depository.
Support local Pagan artisans, merchants, metaphysical retailers,
readers, and healers by providing free booths at the
annual Chicago Pagan Pagan Pride Day events.
Strive to promote appreciation and understanding of Wicca, by supporting
the Wiccan Interfaith Council International.
Sponsor "The Witches Voice" online directory.
Offer our services FREE OF CHARGE ~ "As Always".
